Cover Legend

The cover picture shows the expression pattern of the Xenopus fork head/winged helix gene FoxM1 in early development. This gene is widely known from different species to be involved in cell cycle regulation. The early expression in Xenopus is found predominantly in the eye anlage and in the central nervous system. For more information, see the article by Pohl et al. pp. 53-58 in the present issue.
